Sywell Country Park Observing Sessions
Nene Valley Astronomical Society is pleased to have teamed up with Sywell Country Park to offer regular night sky observing sessions which are open to members and non-members alike on the first Monday of each month
Session dates for the Autumn and early Winter of 2013 have now been confirmed with these being Monday 2nd September, Monday 7th October, Monday 4th November and Monday 2nd December.
Experienced members of the society will set up a selection of telescopes and guide you through a variety of different objects visible in the night sky ranging from the Moon and planets, through to star clusters, star formation regions and remote galaxies.  If you have binoculars or a telescope yourself, then please feel free to bring these along.
To ensure that everyone has an adequate time to look through the group telescopes, these evenings are open to those who have reserved places in advance only*.  To book please either e-mail us at (preferred) or leave a message on our observing line on 07504 989890 with your name, details of the number of places you require and contact details.   Attendance at the evenings is free.
Please note that as we do not have access to internal facilities at Sywell, these evenings are entirely weather dependant.  So please remember to dress warmly and bring a suitable red light torch to preserve dark adaption.
If for reasons of poor weather conditions we are unable to proceed with any of the planned sessions, then we will circulate all those who have reserved places by their preferred contact method (either e-mail or text message) by 6.00 on the evening of the event.
(* - pre-booking is not required by members of the Nene Valley Astronomical Society)
