Based in East Northamptonshire, the Nene Valley Astronomical Society (NVAS) exists to promote and advance the science of astronomy in this area, both amongst it’s members and the public.

Starnight Observing Sessions:  Due to the twilight evenings, our Friday evening observing sessions are currently taking a break.  They will be returning in early September.

Next Chelveston Meeting: Monday 21st August:  ‘Out Of Chaos Comes Order’ a lecture by John McEvoy.  This talk will cover the Inner Planets of the solar system and discuss some interesting facts about the formation of the system from the Sun through to the asteroid belt. Chelveston Village Hall, Caldecott Road Chelveston NN9 6AT at 8.00pm  Admission £3 per person including tea/coffee and biscuits.  Note that access to the hall is now through the double doors at the rear of the village hall.

Next Sudborough Meeting: Thursday 7th September:  Astronomical Aspects meeting.  If clear, we’ll also be doing a bit of stargazing and there will be our usual ‘Sky Guide’.    Sudborough Village Hall, Main Street, Sudborough at 8pm. Admission £2.
